Meet Ashton Cartrette...
Ashton suffered traumatic brain injury due to child abuse when he was 2 resulting in cerebral palsy, vision impairment, left sided weakness, walks with leg braces, epilepsy and developmental delays.
Ashton has never met a stranger and has a set of questions that you will know if you've ever met him. What's your name, what's your favorite color, what's your favorite dinosaur, what's your favorite animal, etc.
Almost everyone's name reminds him of a song or a character. Hayden's mom, Holly, usually gets to hear "it's a holly, jolly Christmas" every time he sees her.
He also likes to tell jokes and his favorite song is "Who let the dogs out?"
Ashton is now 18 and he has been playing Challenger since he was 6. He went with Coach Chuck's team to the Little League World Series Exhibition Game in Williamsport his first year playing Challenger.
He's played at Davie for awhile, at least since 2019.
"Ashton enjoys talking to people as much or more than baseball. We are thankful for having a place for our kids to play baseball. Thanks to the community and all the buddies that help throughout the season."
